Internship
Business case Steerable Punch - Arthroscopy
Background
Within the framework of a program called NIMIT Development Centre, three projects are defined where innovative instruments for minimally invasive interventions are developed from proof-of-principle to a prototype ready for in patient testing.
One of the projects is the Steerable Punch. This innovative instrument for arthroscopy has been developed until the level of proof-of-principle within Delft University of technology (DUT). The invention is patented and a consortium of DUT, Amsterdam Medical Centre (AMC), and the companies ACMIT and De Koningh Medical Systems (DKMS) will further develop for validation within the patient. Part of the project is to develop a business case and corresponding business plan.
Goal
We are looking for a team of two students who will build a business case based on available data, a market research and identification of key market players and decision makers. Second step will be to describe and evaluate different business models and scenarios for follow-up when in-patient prototyping and evaluation of the device is finished. In this assignment you will be guided both by the business developers from TU Delft as by DKMS, and we expect you to participate within the course ‘Ready to startup (WM0506TU)’ 6ECTS. |
